I have worked with individuals during their life transitions including college students, the LGBTQ community, Seniors and their care givers, and those struggling with grief including those who have lost a loved one by suicide. Despite how stuck or overwhelmed one may feel, or dealing with circumstances an individual is dealt, I believe an individual’s capacity to pursue and find satisfaction and well-being are possible across the lifespan. Working with others during the most challenging moments of life is a sacred journey.

One of my own life transitions led me to pursue my doctorate in psychology after a career in international marketing and research in the technology and aerospace sector.  Individuals have an ability to grow, adapt and improve, whether it be small or big changes. This is what motivates me to help others not just stop hurting, but to thrive beyond their challenges.

I was raised in a Catholic family where there were absolutes about life and a belief that sometimes destiny could not be overcome. As I traveled internationally and learned about other cultures, and especially during my time working in Latin America, I saw the richness that other societies place on people and living vs business, money and blind faith. I pursued the study of psychology to gain insights into breaking free from cultural expectations, deepen my understanding of behaviors and to have the ability to create my own life, rather than feeling constrained by predetermined values.

I work with clients to honor the values in their culture that align with who they are. Culture shapes our identity, but it truly becomes a part of us when we choose what aligns with who we want to be.
